Preferences: Language, theme, and unit preferences (metric/imperial)
Feedback: Any feedback or communications you send to us
Account Information (Future): When we introduce user accounts, we may collect email address, password (encrypted), and account authentication data

Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
Usage Data: How you interact with the app and features you use

2.3 Camera and Photos

We request camera permission to allow you to photograph your meals for food tracking
Photos are primarily stored locally on your device. When you use AI analysis features, photos are temporarily sent to our AI service providers for processing
You can choose photos from your gallery or take new photos

We use your information to:

Provide and improve our food tracking services
Calculate calorie and macronutrient goals based on your profile
Analyze food photos using AI to estimate nutritional content via Google Vertex AI, Qwen, and OpenAI services
Track your weight progress and provide insights
Personalize your app experience (themes, language, units)

Improve app functionality and user experience

4. AI and Third-Party Services

We use artificial intelligence services to help analyze your food photos and provide nutritional estimates:

AI analysis is optional - you can always enter food data manually without using camera features

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Your personal data, food logs, and weight tracking information are stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms
Cloud Storage and Accounts: Currently, we do not require user accounts and do not store your data in the cloud. In the future, we may offer:
- Optional user account creation for enhanced features
- Cloud backup and sync capabilities
- Multi-device synchronization
These features will be optional and require your explicit consent before activation.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained locally on your device as long as you use the app
You can delete individual food entries at any time within the app
Currently, you can delete all your data by uninstalling the app from your device
When we introduce user accounts in the future, we will provide an in-app "Delete Account" feature that will permanently remove all your data from our servers
Photos sent to AI services are not retained by us and are processed according to each service provider's data retention policies

You have the right to:

Access: View all data stored in the app at any time
Correction: Update or correct your personal information within the app settings
Deletion: Delete your data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
Data Portability: Currently, data is stored locally and can be accessed through your device
Opt-out: You can choose not to use AI analysis features and enter food data manually instead

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@optimateai.co.

9. International Users

Our company is based in Hong Kong. If you are located outside Hong Kong, please note that when you use AI features, your food photos may be transferred to and processed by our AI service providers (Google, OpenAI, Qwen) according to their respective privacy policies and data processing locations. By using our app, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
